Cannot open .pbix or .pbip files from Command Line?

Hi,

Surprisngly could not find other questions regarding this topic, but has anyone been able to successfully open PowerBI files from command line (WSL or Powershell)?

When trying the PBIDesktopStore.exe binary for a .pbip file I get

Else when I try to open a .pbix file using the downloaded x86 PowerBI Desktop, I get this (I added the bin directory to my path)

Please let me know if you have advice,

Thank you

What's your business scenario that requires this feature?

Hi @lbendlin,
Just development experience.

I simply prefer to navigate through the commandline and powerbi files are the only type I have not been able to get to work.

When using unix-based file explorer programs, it can be quite quick to open up my development files this way, especially in a very nested directory structure.

A large part of my work day is navigating to different .pbip files and I would like to make it as efficient as possible.

This

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\bin\PBIDesktop.exe" "c:\users\lutz\downloads\test.pbix"

seems to work for me.

I used the x64 install with that syntax and it appears to work!

Awesome, thanks.
