Cannot connect to SSAS tabular in live mode March 2020

Hi there, 

I'm experiencing difficulties setting up a live connection to as SSAS tabular model in the new March 2020 pbi version (64 bit). I cannot get past the initial connection window. When I choose the import mode pbi connects to SSAS ok, but performance seems degraded. I've so far tested this on two separate machines with same outcome.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Specs: 

SSAS tabular 14.0.249.21

PBI desktop Version: 2.79.5768.663 64-bit (March 2020)

I have a SSAS 2017 tabular instance which has the latest CU 19 patched, it's able to connect live to it from Power BI desktop version 2.79.5768.663 64-bit (March 2020). Please install the latest CU 19 for SSAS instance then test again.

Hi Qiuyun Yu,

I'm able to connect live to ssas (cu18) by leaving out the optional database name. I'm now updating to cu19 to see if that resolves the matter.

I will report back shortly.

updating to CU19 did not resolve this issue. For now, I'm leaving the database name empty but this appears to be a bug in the current pbi version
