Can't refresh 365 Usage Analytics

Hi - I need some help as not sure how to make this work again as it was working last year (had to step away from it until now).  The problem is that I can't connect the Usage Reports back to my org data.  I keep getting the following error....

Data source error{"error":{"code":"ModelRefresh_ShortMessage_ProcessingError","pbi.error":{"code":"ModelRefresh_ShortMessage_ProcessingError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"Message","detail":{"type":1,"value":"The credentials provided for the OData source are invalid. (Source at https://reports.office.com/pbi/v1.0/mytenantid/TenantOfficeActivation.)"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: TenantOfficeActivation.

I've looked all over the week for some direction and I dont know what to do next.  I'm a rookie when it comes to PBI to be fair so any steer in the right direction to correct this would be great.

Thx in advance.

Cris.

Hi @Virtualcris

Please go to Dataset Settings, specify a valid credential for the data source, then refresh the dataset again.

"You have to be either a Global adminExchange adminSkype for Business adminSharePoint adminGlobal reader or Report reader in order to establish the connection to the template app. See About admin roles for more information."

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft ,

Thanks for the reply.  I was trying that and was having an error when I realized that MFA might be getting in the way.  I had been using these reports prior to our full MFA implementation successfully.  I've created a dedicated service acct for this purpose without MFA and the report reader role and it appears to be working.

Hi @Virtualcris

Yes, I found the same issue reported internally before. The MFA can cause credential error, we need to use a service account without MFA.

I experienced the same issue post MFA implementation on my account and have switch to a service account for this datasource without MFA. However, I have been experiencing issues with refreshing the data with that service account. I have verified the account has "Report Viewer Role" yet it is still giving me issues. See issue details below.
