Hello,

I have recently found an annoying bug related to bookmarks. I have a page with a filter pane, a single visual (table) and 3 bookmarks. The first bookmark is a reset to take the page to its initial state. The second and the third bookmarks switch two different versions of the table. The two tables differ by a single filter. Here comes the annoying part. I don’t want to loose my filters in the filter pane when I switch between the two bookmarks. Usually this can be done very easily by turning off the “Data” component of the bookmarks. However, when I do it now, I loose the filters on my visuals and the two tables become the same. This is so frustrating because it works in one page and it doesn’t in the next one. Sometimes I am able to fix it by opening and closing the report multiple times but this cannot be a reliable solution.

Seems like could not reproduce it in my side. When I create three bookmarks in a report as your mentioned, one bookmark reset the initial status and other two bookmarks have different status of slicer selected. Click different bookmarks it would work and have the correct filters.

Test version of power bi desktop: 

Maybe you can consider sharing more details about this issue and the verison of power bi desktop.

I have also tried to capture what happens when I apply a visual level filter and create bookmarks with the "Data" component inactive. I had to hide most of the information on the pages but you will get the main idea. When I switch between the two bookmarks, it works fine, but whenever I click "Reset", one of the bookmarks looses the visual filter. This is visible because my conditional formatting is dependent on this filter.

When the "Data" component of the bookmarks is active, I have no issues and everything works fine. However, I would like to be able to apply a page level filter and keep it while moving through the bookmarks.

'Data' option would apply filter, drill and sort state in the bookmark, when you disable it, when you change to other bookmarks, this bookmark would save the last bookmark's state which you changed.

In addition, if you want to enable 'Data' option and be able to apply a page level filter and keep it while moving through the bookmarks, you should apply it for each bookmark becasue bookmarks store all the page status, including filters.

I believe there is a slight misunderstanding. I want 3 bookmarks:

1. Reset - 0 filters (default state of the page)

2. Bookmark 1 - 1 visual level filter ("Data" disabled)

3. Bookmark 2 - 1 visual level filter ("Data" disabled)

Aftert that I want to be able to filter the page to country (for example USA) and be able to move between Bookmark 1 and Bookmark 2 without loosing the USA filter. Only if I click Reset, I should loose the USA filter because the Reset bookmark has "Data" enabled. Currently, I am loosing the visual level filter, which is the strange part. I know what I want is is possible because I have this exact same page in a few different reports and it works exactly as expected. I am pretty sure it's a bug because it even works in page 2 of the current report and doesn't work in page 5.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on your description, still could not reproduce it. All of my report page would show the same result as my previous post with bookmarks instead of one of them.

If you are pretty sure it's a bug in power bi desktop, could you please consider sharing a simple sample file which is simliar with my previous posted pictures, without any sesentive information but could reproduce this issue so that I could submit it internal.
