Arranging 'Show data point as table' for all values

I have a raw data table with over 30+ columns. I am using that to build PowerBI report with multiple chart visuals and matrix visuals. Each of these visual have multiple rows.

Upon clicking 'Show data point as table', upon on the bar in the chart or one of the value in matrix visual, I am able to remove irrelavant columns and define the sorting order. However, I have then do that again for each value and each row. Not humanly possible.

Is there an option to apply my column selection and sorting to all the values of the given widget for the option of 'Show data point as table', while continuing to use the same source raw data table?

Hi @Master2023 ,

If I'm not misunderstanding you.It sounds like you're dealing with a complex Power BI report and looking for a way to streamline the process of customizing the 'Show data point as table' view for multiple visuals. Unfortunately, Power BI does not currently offer a built-in feature to apply column selection and sorting settings globally across all data points for a given visual. Each customization needs to be done individually for each data point.

As workarounds,Instead of relying on the 'Show data point as table' option, you can create a custom table visual that includes only the relevant columns and sorting order you need. This table can be filtered dynamically based on the selections made in other visuals.

Or you can use DAX measures and calculated columns to create more dynamic and responsive visuals. This approach allows you to control the data displayed in your visuals more precisely.

If you frequently need to apply the same settings across multiple reports, consider creating a Power BI template that includes your preferred settings. This can save time when setting up new reports.
