It would be wonderful if ArcGIS Maps geocoding could understand a list of 3-letter ISO country codes, with column titled as ISO3, as a 'Location'.
Never mind, I switched to using country names (that match the country names used in the standard ESRI base map) and this has fixed most of the 'gap' countries that were not showing a value (in a filled map of countries of the world).
One remaining problem, which may be a bug, is that my Zambia values are still being mapped on to Gambia, despite changing the country name in my data from Gambia to The Gambia. The system seems to prefer Gambia (as a close match) than Zambia as an exact match. Also, I cannot get a value to appear on the Netherlands, despite changing my values from Netherlands to The Netherlands to Holland. If I use just 'Netherlands', it plots onto Netherlands Antilles, and I wonder if this is the same problem as Gambia/Zambia.
