April 2023 32bit crash, External component.

Recently updated with the April release (32 bit), after uninstalling Feb release (March23 release 32 bit didn't work for me either), getting the following error:

Error Message:
An external component threw an exception.

Error Code:
-2147467259 (0x80004005)

PowerBINonFatalError:
{"AppName":"PBIDesktop","AppVersion":"2.116.622.0","ModuleName":"Microsoft.Mashup.Client.UI.dll","Component":"Microsoft.Mashup.Client.UI.Windows.DialogWindowBase","Error":"System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException","MethodDef":"ShowModal","ErrorOffset":"10"}

Returning again to the last stable version for me: Feb23 release.

Hi @jsogorb ,

Firstly please reinstall Desktop form the below link instead of microsoft store:

Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center

If it doesn't help, please try to check your .Net framework which could cause this issue.

Minimum requirement of .net framework for Power BI Desktop is 4.6.2, suggest to to update to 4.7 or the latest version:

https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework

Refer:

  1. https://enterinit.com/powerbi-could-not-load-type-system-runtime-interopservices-osplatform/
  2. Could not load type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.Architecture' related to .NET?
