Hello,

My connector is the Amazon Athena connector using the Direct Query mode, and I have successfully published the display. But, when I try to load the display on the web, I get the following error message:

Cannot load model

Couldn't load the model schema associated with this report. Make sure you have a connection to the server, and try again.

Similar issue had been sumbited internal(ICM:290679675), wouldy update here as soon as possbile if there is any progress about it.

Currently you can check that:

1. Whether the connection information is correct and that you have permissions to access the data source

2. If the report is enabled 'Enhanced Metadata' in the old version of Power BI Dekstop, try that:

  • Disabled the “Enhanced Metadata” preview feature in the Power BI Desktop > Options and Settings > Options > Preview Features.
  • Closed Power BI Desktop
  • Launched Power BI Desktop
  • Created a brand new Power BI Report
  • Published the Power BI Report
  • Navigated in the browser to the Power BI Report

Hi Yingjie Li,

Thanks for your comment!

I have checked the two things as you suggested:

1. I was able to publish the display with the same athena connector using the import mode.

2. I don't see the option "Enhanced Metadata" in path you specified. Please, see the screenshot below:

The version of Power BI I have is Version: 2.102.845.0 64-bit (February 2022).

Please, let me know as soon as possible when the reported error is resolved. Thanks for your support!
