Using the new Combining Binaries functionality is not quite working as expected

In this scenario I'm consolidating CSVs from a folder

While the the Change Type elements are there in the process the final results do not have change type applied

E.g.

In the Transofrm sample step (view) and Transform Function the type is changed correctly for date and values etc

However in the final output it reverts back to MIXED Types

Thanks for the clear steps. I can repro the same issue as you. I’ve reported it internally to Power BI team: CRI 27259917.

I’ll post here once I get any update for it.

A fix will be made available in the February 2017 release of PBI Desktop.

To me it looks like the issue is in fact with Table.ExpandTableColumn as this function doesn't preserve data format.

I already raised an idea to have that adjusted, but may be this would already be the solution in the February 2017 fix?

Has this been fixed? In the latest version of PBI Desktop I still see that Table.ExpandTableColumn does NOT preserve data types
