Unable to filter data using slicer/column which is binded with an m-query parameter

Hi All,

I am unable to filter data using slicer/column which is binded with an m-query parameter (type: text). This parameter is used in making the Oracle SQL query dynamic. The table using this parameter is in Direct Query mode.

Able to type in the parameter values manually and filter the data, but unable to use the dynamic filtering functionality after binding the parameter with an imported column. Also tried with disabling security feature for native database queries, but no luck.

One thing I observed is that, after I have binded the column with the parameter I'm starting to see this icon indicaton for that column.

Not sure why it is showing that way. Searched for articles/blog-posts/videos but found nothing on this issue.

Help from anyone is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

Status: Investigating

For the icon shown in Power BI Desktop, it is by design which is not related to this issue.

About dynamic M paremters in Power Query, suggest that you can follow this blog which introduces it in details:

Besides, here are some limitations in the document about it that you need to consider:

Considerations and limitations

Hi Li,

Thank you for looking into this.

I have referred to the documentation before posting about this issue, still unable to figure out why this is happening.

I have provided few details about the implementation of my requirement (where I facing the issue) in the main post.

Let me know if I need to provided any additional details on it to help you and the team to help me with this.

On the other hand, may I know what does the icon (in the main post) represent by design (as you mentioned) ?

Thanks in Advance!
