Unable to connect to data via HortonWorks ODBC driver after upgrading to November 2.87.1061.0

There seems to be a bug with Novembers 2.87.1061.0 client. Multiple people are unable to connect via HortonWorks ODBC drivers after upgrading to 2.87.1061.0. After downgrading to Septembers version, those people that were having an issue can connect and successfully refresh their data from the desktop client.

 

Error message is the same for all users.

 

[Hortonworks][Hardy] (34) Error from server: SASL(-1): generic failure: Failed to initialize security context: The specified target is unknown or unreachable

You may check if it is caused by Certificate revocation check.

I saw some articles and solutions relating to that new checkbox.  However turning off certificate revocation check didnt work for us and the issue prersists.

I found a similar issue. You may try the latest version downloaded from here

I found the issue is related to the Windows Store version of the PowerBI Desktop software which runs under it's own security context.  The regulare download works just fine.
