Unable to connect to MS Exchange - Failed to save modifications to the server. OLE DB or ODBC error

Hi,

We are unable to connect to MS Exchange Server/ MS Exchange Server Online.

Seeing the error

"Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: ': [DataSource.Error] ErrorAccessDenied: Access is denied. Check credentials and try again. Cannot query rows in a table.."Error.PNG

I m trying to connect to a different MS Exchange account (this account belongs to a support group and I have been granted folder level access).

Also, what is the difference between MS Exchange and MS Exchange Online connectors?

Thanks & regards,

Mannu

Hi @Anonymous,

From your description, it seems that you are able to load table data in Query Editor, but when you apply change and load to data model the error occurs, right?

Due to the error message, there is a issue with credential, I would suggest you go to Data Sources Settings, verify credential for data source.

The MS Exchange and MS Exchange Online connector is used for connecting Exchange on-premise and Exchange online separately.

Thank you for the clarification.

As credentials did not fail on signing into MS excahnge server, I was not sure as to why I was seeing Access denied error.

Will try again and confirm if this works

It wasn't a problem with the credentials. Certain restrictions were enforced on the shared account by the owner.

On granting the privilege, I m now able to connect to MS Exchange.

Thanks,
