URGENT!!: Map Visualization Not Working

Both (Map and Filled Map) visuals are no longer rendering online.

Both render OK on Power BI desktop but are blank online, showing only the MAP background.  The data is not mapped.

Please advise as this is a critical capability.

Have you both tried to use the ArcGIS map visual? It seems to render differently. Might be worth a quick test and could provide a short term solution until Microsoft wakes up the interns to fix this issue.

Yes, it renders differently but I can't find the option to show the bubbles as a pie graph.

Additionally, there are still some locations that are working on the default map visualization but not on the ArcGIS one.

Let's wait for the solution. Do you guys think we should open a new thread or do you think this issue is directly related to this one?

Thanks,

I'm in the same position. The map works in my desktop version (that has yet to be updated), but not online. Please update us when this is fixed!

Thanks

Hi all,

The Bing Maps team is forcing a two-fold change for Power BI; they are deprecated the Bing Maps v7 Control, and are also switching to a new geocoder. The target date is June 30th.

At this time, please download Jun release desktop and define GEO hierarchy. To take full advantage of this, you'll need to set the Data Category for each column correctly. Please try to edit the report in Power BI desktop Jun release and republish it. See: Bing maps improvements.

By the way, if concatenate country and zip code in Location property, change Data Category of this calculated column to Place should work.

Hello,

Same probleme here, it used to work for me without setting any category to my columns, now it works fine in PB desktop but not any more in the online mode.

I downloaded the June version of PB desktop and i sat the category for my hierarchy (Continent/Country) but the drill in the hierarchy doesn't work and when i zoom on a continent i find all countries in the same spot.

I hope it will be fixed ASAP.

Hi @Hind26,

Can you show details how you create the map? Please share .pbix file with some dummy data if possible.

Qiuyun Yu

Actually i dont know how to share a .pbix here, but here is my post on PB Forum if you could take a look and understand the source of my problem.
