Shared with me

Hi, I have this question: I have shared a dashboard with the consumers, and it appear in consumers menu "shared with me". Consumers open the dashboard, and can open the report behind. The report itself does not show in his menu "shared with me". That is fine, but are there any place i can manage and see what content actually will be shown in "shared with me"? Because when looking upon the access rights, the customer has the same access opportunity in both the dashboard and report, but only the dashboard is visible. When promoting the report, it will neither show on homescreen, just the promoted dashboard. Consumers has access to the reports, and can read this without problems. Where can i control the shared with me, so i can decide what the consumers can see in shared with me and as promoted stuff when access right is the same,m in both reports and dashboard?

If the dashboard related to multiple reports, you can remove one of the accesses of the reports to disable the end user to visit the report and the tile in the dashboard would show the last status which he has the access to this report.

Refer: Manage permissions to a dashboard

If the dashboard only related to one report, when you remove the report access for the end user, he would not visit this dashboard in Shared with me.

I guess the real question is, can i control for end-users that only dashboards are visible in shared with me, andf not the underlying reports? I want all users to access reports through the dashboards, and not directly to the report.

Correct. But how can i see what end users actually will see in shared with me? I have one report, and i have created a dashboard of this report. I have only shared the dashboard. In permission, end user has exactly the same permisson to the report as in the dashboard.

But only the dashboard show in shared with me. So if i promote the report, and check permission for that report, and see that end user has direct access, it will still not be seen under promoted stuff. Users can find abd access the report from the dashboard only

I miss opportunity to see which report is beeing shared directly, and which report end user has access to, but only been shared through a dashboard.

We have 350 different dashboards and reports, and want to clean the menu shared with me for end users, beacause the list is too long. We dont want to revoke accesses.  We also want to promote different reports, but it is difficult to determine if this report was initially shared, or initially shared through a dashboard. If it was initially shared through a dashboard only, it will not be shown as promoted on end users home screen, even if end users has direct acess to it. How can i check this?

Please advice me here....
