Service Failure - Cannot publish or upload content since January

Its been three weeks now and all conetnt we have built sourcing data from SQL Server in views and tables cannot be publishing to the PowerBi Service without an Internal Server Error 500.

I stripped down a PBIX to only 1 single query and it doesnt publish in a September 2020 December 2020 or January 2021 BI Desktop. Everytime the same error is displayed.

If you try and upload the content through thee BI Service you get the following error details

I have been waiting on a fix for weeks.

I went into the community who told me to log an issue

I logged and issue and someone said the issue has already been reported.

But no other feedback has ever been provided as to what is happening and why its not being fixed.

This is having a severe impact on our customers and the content we have produced and had working without error or issue up until the January BI Service update.

Can someone please advise me when its going to be fixed

OR if there is something to do in the PBIX or PBIT template we have created to resolve the issue.

Hi @shaunwilks ,

Similar issues have indeed been reported internally and are waiting to be fixed, ICM: 226306826.

I will keep you posted with any updates.

You can try to use previous month version of power bi temporarily:

Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop

Its not a desktop issue - Ive tried Sept December and January. Its a service issue

Attached is a link to a sample PBIX to produce the error. Sample

I am incredibly frustrated with how long it is taking to resolve.

Believe it has to do with a SQL Server databsource and Import model.

I need to elevate this issue and have priority placed on it.

Why has a response taken so long when its a matter of urgency ?

Anyone know where else I can get this looked at
