Issue:

Security group members do not inherit permissions from Shared Cloud Connections

Description:

Specific instance where this was encountered was with creating a Fabric cloud connection to an Eventhouse as a connection type of Azure Data Explorer (Kusto). When you create this Fabric cloud connection, and add a security group for "user" permissions, no access to the data source is possible e.g. with DirectQuery reports to this Eventhouse. Loading the report returns:

Only when user/service principal is added directly as an user to the cloud connection, access to the data is given and the report loads the data.
