From what I observed recently in a situation that was considered business critical, a set of paginated report of ours, which have subscriptions - one of the users on the recipients list suddenly left and so his account was deactivated. This caused the whole subscription to fail. (We no longer saw the automated emails, so the assumption was this was the root cause and sure enough, removing the user from the list allowed things to run automatically again.)
The suggestion here is that this be a *soft error*. Or better yet, a configurable option.
