Report deleted from workspace not reuploading when published

Hi All,

I have a pbix on my local machine that has a dataset and a base report.  I was having some issues with the report not updating with new changes after publishing so, to try and force this, I deleted the report in the workspace.  Now when I publish the pbix, the dataset and changes are published, however, the report is not.

1. Is this expected behaviour or a bug?

2. How do I get the report published now?

Hi @AndrewMay 

May I know whether your issue is that you couldn’t see the report in the workspace but you can see its dataset after you republish this local report? If so, could you please clear the cache of your browser and resign in to Power BI service(app.powerbi.com) to access the content in the workspace again to see whether this report will be displayed?

Thanks for investigating this.

You're correct regarding what the issue is;  The dataset refreshes, but the report isn't seen in the workspace I published to. 

I think I may have worked out what the issue is though.  I had created a copy of the report in the same folder but with a different name so I could make some changes (basically remove some of the pages) for a specific user in the company.  It appears that the publishing is now publishing to the copied report after I deleted the original.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a dataset with a report attached in Power BI Desktop

2. Publish the Dataset and Report to a workspace

3. Edit the report and save as copy into the same workspace but with different name

4. Delete the original report that was published with the dataset

5. Republish from Power BI Desktop

-- Any changes to the Copy report are overwritten --

Is this standard behaviour?
