Report Refresh throwing Error

Hello Team,

We are working on one of the Power BI report and continously deploying it on Web service. Day before yesterday while refreshing we start getting an error of Data Size which was more than 1.2 GB.

Then we reduces the data from backend and tried to refresh but we are getting error "Database 'XXXX-XXXX-XXXX' cannot be queried currently because the storage mode is currently being updated."

Then we have used the same copy of report and tried to publish it with different name then it is working fine but when we are trying to overwrite the current file it is throwing above error.

Can anyone please help us here with root cause of this issue.

Regards,

Prateek

Hi,

According to your description, I think you can try to completely delete the dataset and related report from the Power BI service and publish the report again from the Power BI desktop and configure the data refresh again to check if the error can disappear.

If you still have a problem, you can follow the official troubleshooting document:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/refresh-troubleshooting-refresh-scenarios

Thank you very much!

@v-robertq-msft - Thanks for replying on this. May I know actual cause of this type of issue. We just wanted to make sure this type of issue should not come in Production.

Hi,

We faced the same issue today at 12:40 PM IST. Refresh failure Error message " Database 'XXXX-XXXX-XXXX' cannot be queried currently because the storage mode is currently being updated." Do we know what causes such issue. My dataset is in production and no changes are made in past 2 Months. @v-robertq-msft @ImPrateek @Anonymous
