Refresh failed: OData Version: 3 and 4, Error500

Ever since I started to use Power BI, I have this refresh issue as below:

  • Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed: OData Version: 3 and 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (The request uses too many resources.) OData Version: 3, Error: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (The request uses too many resources.)

Next refresh for AnnualLeaveCount_TimeOffBal2 is scheduled for 01/05/2017 05:32:00.

         Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed: OData

It is confusing that the refresh sometimes will succeed while at most times fail. Even if I click on" Refresh Now" at times it will take me 2 to 3 tries to succeed.

May I know why this happens and how can I solve it? Thanks

Hi @BelleNAP,

What's the data source did you use in the dataset? Please check if the dataset has one OAuth data source with one or more other data sources. If that is a case, it's a known issue, see: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu

Data source is sharepoint list + an Excel file posted on sharepoint.
