Refresh Failed without specified reason

Hello,

I have several datasets with scheduled refresh and some of them started to fail - the message in email nor in PBI Service has no detail about reason. Could you please help me find why is it happening?

Do these issued dataset connects to Graph API? From internal trace, I found the error "ADGraph API exception: error code = Authorization_RequestDenied". It seems the data source credential to be lacking certain permissions.

These permissions are controlled by their AAD tenant admin. You can test this scenario by: 

• Navigating to https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/graph-explorer#
• Clicking “Sign in” from left pane and logging in with the same account that they use for power bi
• Issue the following request from the top bar: https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/ownedObjects

This request will fail, they need to work with their admin to provide appropriate permissions and have them propagated such that above requests succeeds, at which point Power BI will be able to call the same endpoint on their behalf.
