PowerBi report show comments from SharePoint List

I need to show the comments from the SharePoint list in the PowerBi report.

Already done a substantial amount of searching on the web and seen some suggestions on how it can be done but have not yet had any success. (not exactly the easiest thing to search for as "comments" feature on so many un related pages)

Just wondering if anybody had step by step instructions or pointers on how to get "comments" out of a SharePoint list into a PowerBi report.

TIA

Hi @GTEM ,

Do you mean to show the SharePoint list comments separately in a Power BI Report or do you want to show both the SharePoint list and its comments directly in one report?

As far as I understand it, it doesn't seem to be possible to do this directly in Power BI, but it is possible to use PowerApps and then interact them with the Power BI report.

Ultimately I would  want to show the SharePoint list and comments in one report but if it means I need to extract the comments into a seperate power query. as long as their is a way to associate it with each item in the SharePoint List, I should be able to combine it into one.

@GTEM | @Anonymous - I have had a similar request from my user.  There are "comments" made on the SharePoint List Items by various usess.  These comments are not stored within the SharePoint List (i.e. in a separate column).  Instead they appear to be stored in the Metadata for the List.  The SharePoint.Tables power query function/connector cannot see these comments regardless of the Implementation and ApiVersion settings.

This looks like a bit of an old topic now, but was hoping someone has a solution as i now also have the same request and googling "comments in powerbi" brings up a lot of useless responses.
