PowerBI files do not deploy in D365 if "PowerBI Project (.pbip) save option" is activated

Hi all,

we tried to deploy a normal .pbix file through LCS and D365 and although we uploaded the file in asset library normally without any problems, when we actually pushed "Deploy PowerBI files" in Fin & Ops the deployement failed. The root cause was that we had activated the preview feature "PowerBI Project (.pbip) save option". We did not save our file as a .pbip but it caused an issue in deployment.

Status: Investigating

Hi @vasotsich ,

Do you mean if you turn off the preview feature, the same report can be deployed successfully? Also, is there any error message when deployment failed.

Best regards,

Hello @v-yanjiang-msft ,

yes exactly. Sadly no, the only error message that we got is that:

And if you hover over does not show anything more.

While what I posted was true until Monday, I retried today to again publish the file with the preview feature and it was a success:
