Power BI Desktop - Get Data error

Hi. I am unable to get data from a SQL Server source in Power BI Desktop. Note, I am able to connect to the same data source using the same user account via SSMS. Do you have any ideas as to what is going on? The steps leading to the error and the error message are below.

1. Get Data
2. Sql Server
3. Select views and load --> Error

Feedback Type:
Frown (Error)

Error Message:
A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running.

Hi @samr,

1. Please open Query Editor, click on New Source -> SQL database to connect to the same instance, select the view. If the data displays in Query Editor, then click on Apply to load data to data model to see if the same issue occurs.

2. Please use SQL profiler then repeat steps to load data to see if any error captured.

3. Please run the latest Power BI desktop version if possible.

Best Regards,
