Paginated reports embedded into Sharepoint unable to get past sign in button

Good morning,

We launched a sharepoint site with pages that have embedded Power BI Paginated reports. It was working fine through launch in July until the morning of 8/5. Starting on 8/5, when users click Sign in it spawns a new browser tab which immediately dissapears. After the new tab goes away, the sign in button persists.

Example:

What's interesting is that before 8/5, we don't recall the 'Open in new tab' option being present.

When you click Open in new tab, the url contains this string at the end:
"&clientSideAuth=0&fallbackError=%7B%22flow%22%3A%22Rdlembed%22%2C%22source%22%3A%22System%22%2C%22info%22%3A%22redirect_in_iframe%3A+Code+flow+is+not+supported+inside+an+iframe.+Please+ensure+you+are+using+MSAL.js+in+a+top+frame+of+the+window+if+using+the+redirect+APIs%2C+or+use+the+popup+APIs.+%28window.parent+%21%3D%3D+window%29+%3D%3E+true%22%2C%22code%22%3A%22redirect_in_iframe%22%7D"

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Mark

Hi  all,

We have seen on the internal platform that other engineers have reported this issue and submitted it.

We have the exact same problem! Good to know we are not alone. Anyone has a resolution for this?

Our infrastructure team noticed this on their service health page:

We just checked on our side and we do not see this entry or any other relevant entry linked to this problem in the service health page.

Hi,

We have the same problem as from today. The paginated reports that were embedded in Sharepoint is not longer accessible when we click on the sign in button. Instead it redirects to the same page to sign in again.

I hope we get a resolution soon or hear from the support team. We have a lot of paginated reports.

Has this issue been fixed?

Some people in my organization can now see the paginated reports embedded in Sharepoint, but others don't.

@v-xiaoyan-msft  If it may help, we have noticed that when we first sign in to a Power BI embedded report (https://app.powerbi.com/reportEmbed?reportId....) and go back to a paginated embedded report (https://app.powerbi.com/rdlEmbed?reportId...), we are then able to visualize the paginated report. I don't know if anyone else can confirm this workaround, but it works systematically on our end.

@kp1 . I just tried it and I can confirm that I now see the paginated embedded reports.  Do we know why this workaround works?

Hopefully the issue will be fixed soon, and things will go back to normal.

@Maina_Keza Hard to say, we came across this workaround completely by accident, as we have some Power BI reports on the same Sharepoint site as the paginated reports.
