ODBC enterprise gateway - Cannot connect to the mashup data source. Here are our main findings.

• Unable to refresh data using an ODBC enterprise gateway – we get the following error in the PBI service
• Able to refresh the data using an ODBC enterprise gateway if we remove all the ”Navigation”/navigations going to the tables – leaving “Source” only which only has 1 row of data which is the ODBC DSN details
• Able to refresh the data in the PBI service using a ODBC personal gateway

Based on the comments here, it seems un-installing and then re-installing the latest version of the gateway solves the issue. Not sure if this is the correct solution though but we have a separate group here who manages the gateway servers and I’m not sure how easy that is.

@Anonymous,

What versions of Power BI Desktop and Power BI gateway do you use? I would recommend you use latest version of Power BI Desktop(2.64.5285.741)  and use latest version of gateway.

In addition, are you able to successfully refresh data in Power BI Desktop?
