New Installation Issue (Error Deserializing The Object)

I had issues with my previous PowerBI Desktop Installation (not closing down properly, and suddenly not opening up PBIX files that I had previously been able to open & edit).

I uninstalled it.

I rebooted the PC.

I downloaded the lastest x64 Desktop install from Microsoft website.

I installed it.

On startup it gives me the following error report (There was an error deserializing the object of type Microsoft.Data.Mashup.Preview.DownloadManifestResult+JsonRemoteExtensionInfoArray. Encountered unexpected character '<'.).

I have rebooted the laptop but still get the new error report.  The full error message from the clipboard is below.

Any help appreciated!

Hi @SBenbow ,

I wasn't able to reproduce your problem, you can check out this article Resolve startup issues with Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

If your issue isn't related to an on-premises data gateway, or if the resolutions in this article don't work, you can submit a support incident to Power BI support.

It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

I've still got the same issue in our organisation.

As standard we don't have internet acces until you accept a policy at edge launch.

Without internet access I get your error, with internet access it works fine

Been trying to find a way to stop it accessing the internet but no luck so far.

Porém Acessava a Rede , Navegava normalmente...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
a Solução:
Dessa forma consegui resolver o problema do Usuário ...
