Missing data source after publish

Hi, 

I have a dashboard connected to a sql database, but after publish the dashboard, but it gives this error in powerbi online,

Once I click on that, it shows,

and surprisingly no gateway is set up nor any data source.

Any idea? Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Please check whether your gateway is online and condifured the credentials for the sql database correctly when you use Direct Query mode to connect it.

If you have configured the same sql source for the gateway previously, try to remove and re-configure this data source, re-publish the report to Power BI Service and check it again.

ah, Thanks. I didn't know even it's a sql server, it could be a on-premise server, so it needs a gateway. I will try to find a VM and set it up. Thanks.
