Hi there,
I've encountered a problem with the custom function mechanics described in the Microsoft Learn article on using custom functions in Power Query.
In Power BI, the connection between a Sample Query (used as the template) and the linked function appears to be lost after saving, closing, and reopening the .pbix file. As a result, any changes made to the original query are no longer reflected in the function after reopening the report.
This behavior contrasts with Excel, where the connection between the query and the function remains intact and continues to work as expected.
This significantly limits the usability of custom functions in Power BI, as it prevents iterative development or maintenance of the sample query once the function is created.
Could you please investigate or confirm whether this is a known issue?
