[Issue] Develop Visual Icon does not appear in Desktop
Summary:
After enabling Develop a visual under File > Options > Current File > Report Settings, the setting resets after every restart of Power BI Desktop, and the </> developer visual icon never appears in the Visualizations pane.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Power BI Desktop (June 2025 version)
- Go to Options > Current File > Report Settings
- Enable Develop a visual
- Save the .pbix file
- Close and reopen Power BI
- Setting is now disabled again
- Developer icon never appears
Expected Behavior:
The setting should persist per file, and the developer visual icon should be available.
Actual Behavior:
The setting resets on every session. No developer icon is shown. No error messages appear.
Environment:
Power BI Desktop Version: 2.144.1378.0 64-bit (June 2025) (latest)
Platform: Windows 10
pbiviz version: 6.1.3
Custom visual dev server works via pbiviz start
