Invalid connection credentials.

Hi 

When I try using Excel online as a source in Power BI desktop - it works fine. But when I publish to PBI service and set the Enterprise gateway. I get the following error : Invalid connection credentials.

I used the Authentication method as "Basic" as I could not find "OAUTH" method.

Any pointers would be helpful,

Hi @yuvara, 

As the report only contains the Excel online data source, we needn't to configure the gateway for this dataset to achieve dataset refresh in Power BI service. Of course, it's not supported to create a Excel online data source in Manage Gateways section. 

In your scenario, please go to Dataset Settings section, and find Data Source Credentials tab for this dataset, specify the credential to connect to Excel online.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft ,

I'm using the information from the Excel as a Query in my report and when schedule the rpeort via gateway, it's asking for credentials for teh excel online. 

Am I missing some thing over here ?
