Google Big Query Rate limits

Hi Cummunity,

if i want to refresh my report, then i get the following mistake.

"ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][BigQuery] (100) Error interacting with REST API: Exceeded rate limits: too many api requests per user per method for this user_method. "

Previously, I created the report and can easily update it.

Do you have any ideas why I am getting the error?

thanks

hi  @Anonymous

There is a limitation on Big Query side:

API requests per second, per user — 100
Concurrent API requests, per user: 300

Please ensure you don't hit this limitation, see: https://cloud.google.com/bigquery/quotas#api_requests

and when you refresh the data in Power BI desktop, is the option "Parallel Loading of Tables" enabled? Please try to disable this option then refresh the data in Power BI desktop to see if the same issue occurs.

and have a look this blog to see if it could help you

of course you may also try to use BigQuery ODBC connector to have a test.
