Frown error / October 2024

Hi

 

I repeatedly receive this error message as I open my pbix files. I've updated Windows, nothing pending there. Is this a version related problem or how to fix this?

We notice that you are using version 2.137.1102.0 (24.10) (x64). This appears to be the version downloaded from the MS app store.

We prefer that you download it using the official download link, which you can find here.

Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center

 

Ensure that you remove any residual files and registry entries before reinstalling:

1.Uninstall using Control Panel.

2.Deleter remaining files and folders of the program.

3.Remove software keys from Windows registry.

4.Empty Temp Folder.

Hi, I uninstalled the previous download and installed the version from the official website. I managed to open the pbix once, but the second time I opened it - the same error came again. And as I got that pbix open - there was still the additional problem, that I couldn't see the column tools at all.

 

So these problems are connected to each other - is my pbix corrupted, or what's going on...

 

However, thanks for the hint to get the version upgrade from the website!
