Excel.Workbook Web.Contents no longer reading excel file

Getting an excel workbook from a webpage used to work but now it seems to be reading the webpage HTML and throwing an error.

Excel.Workbook(Web.Contents("https://<some directory>/getFile.html?filename=<filename>.xls"), null, true)

 

It is unbelievably inconvenient and time consuming to download all the files I need to run my power bi reports. Can you please fix this?

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

This might fix your problem:

1) Go to the Power Query ribbon tab and click on Data Source Settings.

2) Click on the line with "https://<some directory>/... and delete the credential.

3) Refresh your query. When prompted, reenter your credentials.
