Error when publishing to report server

Hi all,

We have on premises report server. When i tried to publish a desktop based report to report server, it was showing error like below snap. I have tried the option of uploading the existed file from the report server web portal link, even then also  same error throwing.

Is there any dependencies between the normal desktop file and report server desktop file when uploading the normal desktop file to report server?

Hi @AnilKumar,

Firstly, I would suggest you check the detail information logged in Power BI report server log files (By default C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\PBIRS\LogFiles) around the time that issue occurs. 

Secondly, to create the Power BI report for Power BI report server, we need to use the version of Power BI Desktop that's optimized for Power BI Report Server. See: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/install-powerbi-desktop
