Error on starting PowerBi Desktop (MSStore, Windows 11) AcquireServerDynamicPortInfo

We get an error in the German version when trying to load Power BI Desktop "Es konnte keine Verbindung mit dem Modell hergestellt werden."We weren't able to connect to the model." (translated "No connection could be established with the model."

 

The error is reproducible on one computer both with the Store Version and Installer Version. The error persists after deleting Powerbi Desktop Data in users %APPDATA% and is reproducible logging in with two different user accounts.

 

This unanswered post seems to be about a similar error

Hi @cgkk 

If you uninstall and reinstall with the English version, and then open the pbix file, does it report an error? What is the version of your PBI Desktop ?

thank you for your support.

 

We are not trying to open a specific *.pbix file, the error appears about 300 seconds after the program starts without any user interaction and without any user interaction being possible.


We use the latest version from the Windows Store. So, it should be the version 2.114.664.0 - but because we can't start the program, we can't check the version dialog. The log above contains a clear reference to 2.114.664.0

 

Cloud you please point us to a download location for a specific english version? It seems the PBIDesktopSetup.exe for EN https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=58494 and and DE https://www.microsoft.com/de-DE/download/details.aspx?id=58494 are the same file (SHA256: 197dcc5008fc59c0ac5d3ae674cbdc4c81f455aa4a261c5d0682ef2596e393d8) - so this Installer Versions seems to be multilanguage all-in-one.

in the meantime we have made the update to 2.114.864.0. The problem persists.
