Error filtering blank values.

I am connecting to Amazon Athena to pull some data. I want to filter out blank values but I get an error when attempting this.

"This step results in a query that is not supported in Direct Query mode."

I don't think I am doing anything here that should not work in direct query mode. I am testing out a custom connector from CDATA https://www.cdata.com/drivers/athena/powerbi/ I have reached out to their support team and they said that there is nothing on their end that would casue this issue.

How did you filter out blank values, in data view mode or in Query Editor mode? Please provide more detailed information. Also, please check if you hit any limitation mentioned in this article.
