Embedded report builder with dataset powerBI

Hello, 

I'm trying to embedded a report builder in a web solution which have for source a dataset Powerbi in power BI App. 

In my web application it's telling me that I've got a gateway issue. I don't understand why for a dataset power BI I need a gateway. 
And that I understand the only solution I have is to set up a Virtual gateway, which we would like to avoide.

Is there other solution?

May I know whether you are trying to embed your paginated report(built with Report Builder) to your developed web app? What’s the data source of your report/dataset? Is it an on-premises data source or cloud data source? What kind of connection mode did you use to create your report?

The source is a dataset Power BI (direct query) located inside the Power BI apps.
All my data are from databricks in the cloud. 

I hope I anwser to your question.

Hi @Anonymous,

Normally, for cloud data sources, you don’t need to configure for them. But if the data source couldn’t be accessed by Power BI directly for some network policy etc., then Gateway is needed no matter if the data source is cloud data source or not.
