Direct Lake Semantic Model - Data Connection setting to disconnect not working

I have a direct lake semantic model with this option disabled. Today I had an analyst building row level security roles for the model and didn't share the cloud connection with them. We are using a Service Principal to handle the connection between the model and lakehouse.

The edits caused the model to disconnect from the lakehouse even with this setting disabled.
