Dataflows not refreshing today

Hi,

According to my refresh history, the last successful refresh from my multiple dataflows (Sharepoint and SQL) was at 4am (CST). All refreshes since then have continued to spin(refresh) without completion. I am averaging about a minute on my Sharepoint refreshes and around 5-7 minutes for my SQL refreshes. Today, after 4am, the refreshes continued to spin into 3 hours or so. I cancelled them. Checked the gateways (SQL and Sharepoint on different gateways on different servers) and they were online and ready. I updated the gateways, verified they were connected. Check the dataflow settings and the gateway connection was online. Refreshed again and same thing. They will not complete the refresh.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Have these dataflows been refreshed at the same time range? If so, you can try to arrange them to different time ranges to check this issue again.

In addition, since they have not been refreshed, is there any error message about it in refresh history or in your e-main box if you have set sent refresh information to you.

Same happening here, they keep going for hours with no success/error.

it is frustrating, datasets using same sources are working fine.

Hi @v-yingjl  and @JuanAstudillo,

I worked with Microsoft over a day and a half and was waiting for them to go over the overnight browser trace and gateway logs and I decided to do a test. Because the refresh never fails, I can't see the reason for the issue in the refresh history log. I decided to start a refresh, let it go for the average amount a typical, working refresh would and then jump on the gateway being used and restart it. That triggered the fail and thus some data. Half of the tables completed and I noticed what seemed to be a little off with my incremental refresh.

I then went into each tables power query within the dataflow and removed the incremental refresh while leaving incremental refresh enabled in the table screen for each table. This essentially worked as an incremental refresh, refresh. All the tables completed like they should and no issues since.

Don't know if this would work for you but worth a try.

@JuanAstudillo

For more information, the same thing happened with me as far as creating a dataflow in a new workspace using the same power query to the same datasource, worked. This told me it was something with the workspace that was the issue.
