Hi,
Wondering if anybody can help with this issue...
I have posted on help but no response. It seems more like a bug as some tables refresh - others can't. I am on a PowerBi Pro Trial, with the intention of our team subscribing to Pro in the next few weeks, so I cannot submit a support ticket.
We have a large online sharepoint site with multiple lists and folders. We have been using PowerBi successfully for some months now, with multiple datasets and reports, published to PowerBi online, embedded into sharepoint, and automatically refreshing daily. Since Saturday, our refreshes have been failing in most reports. Nobody was working Fri (bank hol)/Sat, and nothing changed in Sharepoint. In desktop BI, I get the following error message in most (but not all) datasets/tables:
"DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://xxxxx.sharepoint.com/_api/v2.0/sites/xxxxx.sharepoint.com://:/lists(guid'178e3d4e-3969-465c-...' (404): Not Found
Details:
DataSourceKind=SharePoint
DataSourcePath=https://xxxxx.sharepoint.com/
Url=https://xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/_api/v2.0/sites/xxxxx.sharepoint.com://:/lists(guid'178e3d4e-3969-465c..."
This dataset/report below has been working fine since Jan. One table is ok - the other gives the following error. Both tables are lists in SP online, connected using v.2.0 to default list view.
I have updated my desktop BI to the latest version – no difference.
I have cleared all permissions and cleared cache in both desktop Bi and Browser.
The item source ID is correct for the default list view in each case.
If I try to create a new dataset using getdata from the sharepoint site, using v.2.0 - connecting to the default list view, in View Mode dropdown option, I am again getting the following error message for about half the items on our sharepoint site:
I have noticed that if I try to connect to a default list view, where the default view in SP is actually still "All Items", I can connect to and load data. So I can connect to some of our lists/folders, but not all of them...
I can connect using v1.0, and using v2.0 but with All Items.
The datasets/reports I have created so far, are all based on a limited default list view as our lists are extensive. Any ideas ?? Have there been any updates that could have affected this?
