I have a number of bar charts with Data labels turned on. There are two separate issues:
- When using a non-default field values in the data labels settings, an 'info' icon appears on the visual with the text "Data labels in this visual were modified and may not match the corresponding values".
If this is by design, I'm concerned this message could lead to report consumers having a lower level of confidence in the visuals/reports than they should. Like all other elements of a report, report authors should be responsible for ensuring the accuracy. Otherwise, we'll need messages wherever user-created measures are used (or user-created data models, etc).
Edit: This can be switched off by the report designer by disabling the 'Visual Information' icon from the visual's Header Icon settings.

- Highlight interactions between the visuals are not updating correctly. If another chart is filtered and this results in the target visual showing a blank column, the data labels do not update and show the previously highlighted value instead. This occurs with both default and non-default field values.
