Custom KPI Indicator Visual not rendering in Desktop with Live Connection to SSAS

We have an issue where the KPI Indicator custom visual does not render in PBI Desktop when live connected to SSAS.

This only affects the desktop view of the KPI as in the service it's fine. There is a twist though... If I import the data from SSAS (not using a live connection) the KPI is rendering in just fine in PBI Desktop.

Should have mentioned I'm using the latest version (Feb) PBI Desktop, but this also happend in Jan edition too.
