Canvas Background Image Normal Vs Fit Changes the Image Size/Position

If you create a report with a canvas of 1920px x 1080px and create a background image of the same dimensions, the image is rendered differently if you select Normal or Fit. When you select Normal it appears to move the image up by a pixel or two. This means if you are using snap to grid and have created an image that aligns with the grid and select Normal you will not be able to vertical align eliments on your report with the background.

Hi  @cw900

So what is your Desktop version ? If you choose Actual Size , what does the presentation look like?

Hi @Anonymous

Desktop Version: 2.122.1066.0 64-bit (October 2023)

There is no option for Actual Size. I can select "Normal", "Fit" or "Fill".

If I use Fit the background image fits pefectly. If I choose Normal or Fill the background image shifts up by a pixel or two.

You can reacreate this issue by using this image: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/otzxiq5dqg1aynzgfr8v5/RGB_Top_And_Bottom.png?rlkey=z3cf9kh1qj1wctubhpce5orb6&dl=0

I created an image that is 1920px x 1080px. The top line of pixels are red, the second line are green and the third line are blue. The bottom three rows of pixels repeat this pattern. All other pixels are black.

Create a new pbix file. Set the report canvas to 1920px wide by 1080px tall. Set the image I provided as background image and set the transparency to zero. Zoom in to 400% view and scroll to the top or bottom of the report. Change the Image fit to Normal, Fit and Fill and you will see the background image shift up by a pixel or two.
