Can no longer refresh my Premium Per User Workspace - Error: An internal error occurred.. PowerBIApi

Hi, I have been automatically refreshing my dataset for quite some time now, and everything was working smoothly. Since January 10, my refresh fails and I get the following message : Error: An internal error occurred.. PowerBIApiErrorResponse = {}.Param1 = {"Message":"An error has occurred."} Request ID: 7a267ac8-14fa-9636-1c56-d931d3cde48c.

I initially created this workspace as a Premium per user because I wanted to refresh some appended tables together directly in the app, which requires a premium per user license. I got other workspaces which are Pro, and they refresh just fine. My premium per user workspace append and merge tables from other pro workspace. I used to append and merge on Power BI Desktop, but the volume of computing was too big and the Desktop couldn't handle all the transformations. I therefore seperated the applied steps into the premium per user workspace(app), then Power BI Desktop get the data from the dataflows and process the remaining applied steps. Hope my explanation is clear... Any Idea what might cause the sudden problems? I did not change anything in the workspaces. Thanks in advance!

Hi @adminctb

You can refresh it in shared capacity , but cannot refresh in PPU capacity , right ? If yes, has your PPU license expired?

Hi @Anonymous , most of my data in the PPU workspace is originating from a shared capacity workspace, which refreshes just fine. So indeed, I can refresh the shared capacity workspace but can no longer refresh the PPU workspace.

My PPU license seems to still be valid.

When I look on the admin portal in the settings, it seems like I have a limited access. I though I was administrator of my tenant, but It doesn't seem that way. Perhaps I'm mixing things up, but maybe I lost my admin status in my tenant and it might cause some trouble with my refreshes(Just a theory)? I looked it up and I'm supposed to have more options in that menu if I'm administrator of my tenant...

Hi again @Anonymous , quick follow-up on my message : I think I have identified the source of the problem. The real problem with my refresh is the following message : Error On-prem execution not supported for entity.

So I have my PPU workspace, and in it I have a table which is an append query from 2 other tables in the same workspace. Then, I merge with another table in the workspace and that is my final table, which is a computed entity. Now, If I disable the load of the final table, my workspace can refresh properly. However, I need to view that table in my data lake, so I need to enable load and use that final table. Do you know of a workaround so that I can refresh my workspace with a computed entity in it?

I looked into this issue on the following link, but can't seem to find the correct answer for my problem. https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Dataflows-Error-On-Prem-execution-not-supported-for-entity/td-p/629704

Please also note that I dont understand why my refresh could work until january 10th, and now It doesn't work. Sorry for the long answer, I'm trying to get a grasp of the issue and resolve it as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!
