ArcGIS Map Visual - symbology not keeping colour for unique values

If this is not the place to raise this bug officially can somebody let me know where I can do it please - thanks. I've copied this off the Forum/Desktop area because I was getting no response and basically need to get a resolution.

ArcGIS for Power BI, version 2021.2.95.

I have a table "UnitProp" which is unique on UnitPropId, each UnitPropId has one of 4 unique descriptions stored in a column Status1, for example DESC1, DESC2, DESC3 and DESC4, I set the Size field to a COUNT from another table (number of jobs).

I put Status1 in the "color" fields on the visual.

On the Layers...Coordinates...Symbology I use the "Type & Size", within that when setting "Types" I set DESC1 to Red, DESC2 to Green, DESC3 to Yellow and DESC4 to purple (these are using the hex code/colour selector).

I have slicers on the "UnitProp" table, when I change the selected ones the colours I've set on the Symbology are removed and replaced with defaults, it's odd - when the map is redrawing it for a split second after refreshing uses my colours but then resets to the defaults.

This never used to happen until about a week or two weeks back.

I've tried a number of things - removing all used instances of the map and adding again, it's not data amount related - happens on just a couple of hundres items drawn on the map.

Any ideas??

Hi,

Would you like to post a download link of the pbix file with this issue without the sensitive data if it’s possible and we can help you to check if it’s an existing issue in the Power BI?

I also suggest you to make sure you have updated to the latest version of the Power BI desktop.

Thank you very much!

Thanks for getting back Rob, I've exported and annoymised the data so it's using Excel as a data source - absolute bare minimum and it still does it.

I change the colours thus:

Apply a slicer selection and remove it and then my colour selections go back to the default:

Am happy to send you the PBIX file and Excel spreadsheet for you to repro, if you can give me an email address or something.

Still broken on the latest (Dec) app:

Many thanks,

Tony.

I am having this same issue with my report containing an ArcGIS map. My report is completely useless because any slicer selected reverts the symbology to default. I've attempted reaching out to esri,  the creators of the ArcGIS map, and have gotten nowhere. They do have multiple bug reports on their end as well:

BUG-000145246 (unresolved, no status)

BUG-000143835 (fix “implemented”)

BUG-000129922 (fix “implemented”)

BUG-000145382 (unresolved, no status)

BUG-000143517 (fix “implemented”)

BUG-000120268 (fix “implemented”)
