An error occured while rending the report.

When I open Power BI desktop without opening a specific model I get this error message"

When I try to open a file in Power BI desktop I get this error message "Something went wrong. An error occurred whil rendering the report."  I get this same message for all the Power BI files it try to open.

In the file it says I haven't loaded any data yet, but my data sets show in Query Editor.

 

I have unisntalled and reinstalled Power BI desktop.  Doesn't change anything.

I deleted the cache.  Nothing changes.

According to your description, you are experiencing an issue where Power BI Desktop is displaying data properly in power query, but report visual is not rendering properly.
Please try the following suggestions:
1.Delete your local cache: Make sure to delete everything in the following path and then restart Power BI Desktop

the path:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\CEF\cache

2.Checking the data model: Sometimes, DAX queries in the data model may cause file corruption. Try to check and delete possible problematic DAX queries in the Query Editor
3.Updating Power BI Desktop: Make sure you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop.
4.Check to see if it's related to the type of visual being displayed, disabling a specific visual as well as some preview features may alleviate your problem
