Admin monitoring refresh failure

Hello,

The datasets in the new Admin monitoring workspace wont refresh anymore. Also it is not possible as an Power BI admin to get an Admin role for this workspace. So i can't check te dataset settings.

@Anonymous I received great support from MS Customer Engineer assigned to my case who send me the step-by-step instruction, how to do it. Attached below. Hope it helps you as well.

 

The following are the steps to use PowerShell to call REST API:

@karo well, that worked like a charm. The workspace has been deleted using the second API call (api.powerbi.com).

 

Can't understand why they gave me different instructions than yourself. Let's hope refresh keeps working properly, and otherwise I know how to delete the workspace by now!

EDIT 2023-07-03: After refreshing once, the scheduled refresh failed again with the same error message.

@AnonymousHow about today refresh? Also failed? I am monitoring "my" refreshes in Admin monitoring since 2 weeks now and I realized that there is additional problem over a weekends. However, I do not have yet answers from MS Support about it.

@Anonymous  @karo are you using elevated admin role such as Azure AD Privileged Identity Management (PIM) ?  In that case, you need to have the tenant admin role elevated during the scheduled refresh. This is a known limitation which we are working to address.

@bogdanblaga Yes I do have an elevated admin role using PIM. I haven't seen this bullet before in the known limitations page but thanks for pointing this out. Any updates regarding timelines for a fix?

Hi There

I also do have PIM enabled Power Bi Admin Role, and facing the same Issue, Can you please advise what time this dataset Refresfes and is ther anyway I can refresh on demad when I am in my Tenant with PIM enabled role.
