Windows 11 problems with Power BI - publishing large files and R correlations

I have two problems with running Power BI on Windows 11. One major and one minor.

The minor one is that R doesnt'work with Correlation Plot visual. It works fine on Windows 10 with the same file and on Power BI service. So I need to work on the Windows 10 version for any work that involves using that visual.

The major problem is that I can't publish to the Power BI service from Power BI Desktop. Fails with an error - "Unable to read from the transport connect: The transport connection was closed".  It publishes fine on Windows 10 with the same file.  I had this problem when I upgraded by 5950x 128gb desktop. It is a 2gb file size. Rolling back to Windows 10 got things working again. Now I've bought an i7 12700F 64GB laptop with Windows 11 pre-installed and the same problem is occuring with the same 22gb file. Anyone else having these problems with Windows 11?

Status: Investigating

Hi , @AFI

Could not reproduce it in my side as far as my test .

You may consider this limitations:

  1. It could be the power bi server problem that you failed published
  2. You can update the Power BI desktop to the latest version  (Feb 2022) then publish again
  3. You can Go to Power BI service, Get Data-> Files to get pbix files, this has the same effect as publish from desktop.
  4. If above methods are not working, please run Fiddler with Decrypt Https traffic enabled and repeat publish steps to reproduce the issue and post the related message for fur discussion

In addition, you can also take a look at following link who faced similar issue:

Many thanks for the help. The version of power bi desktop is Feb 2022. The whole machine is new as of a week ago, so evertyhing has fresh installs and all updates done.

The Get Data mechanism worked. Menus have changed a bit. I went to a Premium Workspace then New/Files/Local Files then chose the pbix file.

I ran Fiddler with Decrytp Https traffic. Still failed when publishing from Desktop. The windows 10 machines that work are on the same network.

I tried other options from the link like VPNs and creating new datasets but to no avail. Pull method like the one you suggested works - so that's great as a work around on a single machine. But still can't get to publish from Desktop.

The Correlation plot problem is still there, which seems to be an "R" issue.

Where you able to redroduce on pbix files greater than 1gb? Mine's slightly over 2gb.
