Refreshing Power BI Dataset from Access Database (PowerBI Service)

I have the following issue:

I am currently developing PowerBI Reports for a client. Data Source are 2 Access Databases files placed in a SharePoint folder. Connection and refresh work fine from PowerBI Desktop. However, refresh from PowerBI Service fails likely because of Access .accde files having been created with a 32-bit version of Access Database.
Refresh fail message is: Data source error: DataSource.NotFound: Microsoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987.. . The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: fact produccion. Cluster URI: WABI-NORTH-EUROPE-F-PRIMARY-redirect.analysis.windows.net Activity ID: 5600f576-5c75-4d28-9494-d8fff8fac41c Request ID: a84bfc6f-a1e8-5b41-970a-5682d5d02ca7 Time: 2022-05-17 12:52:06Z.
If Access database files were located in a local machine, I  guess this could be solved by installing aproppiate version of Access Database Engine OLEDB provider. However, since being placed in a Sharepoint online folder, no software can be installed. Any help on how to refresh this data into PowerBI Service would be great!
Thank you!!

Hi @Mmarc

Power BI only have 64 bit gateway, it is by design to leverage only 64 bits drivers .

Is it okay to advise customers to install the 64-bit version of the database and then republish the file to SharePoint ?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your answer! We just tried by creating a new accde. using a 64-bit version of access database and republish it to SharePoint.
However, still experiencing the same issue when refreshing data from this accde file in PowerBI Service.

Any other idea on what the problem might be?

Thanks!!
